Beauty Chat: Black Opal's Pore Perfecting Foundation

Hello Beauties!

Recently, Black Opal dropped a new line foundations on us, their NEW Pore Perfecting Foundations. I was very excited to test it out/review it for a few reasons. 1. I absolutely hated Black Opal's True Color Foundation. It highlighted every crevice in my skin only to showcase how dry it was. On my skin, it had a powdery finish. If you have oily skin, that may be foundation that will work for you. 2. I love Black Opal's Creme Stick Foundation and the full coverage it provides. However, I find it to be a little heavy at times.

BO's new Pore Perfecting Foundation (my shade is Nutmeg btw) gave me the best of both worlds. The coverage without feeling heavy or cake-y. I find it to be a little oily, leaving me with a nice glow as it settles, but I like that. I have dry patches all over my face and it does a great job of correcting, softening, and covering those problem areas areas. I also did notice a few pores disappear.

Black Opal's Pore Perfecting Foundation in Nutmeg, Bee's shade.

Pros: Light weight, medium to full coverage, Build-able, ideal for dry skin, comes with cosmetic pump for easy use making it hard to use "too much".

Cons: Oily (for those who prefer less oily foundations), can be streaky when applying. Make sure you buff it out with a dense foundation brush or beauty blender.

Over all its a great foundation. I hate when people say, "its great for being a drugstore foundation." I personally don't care if its from the drug store or department store. Its either a good product or not. On this one I'll go ahead and give it a thumbs up. Try it out for yourself and let me know what you think.

Until next time,
<3 Bee

  2. Love the article!!! Black Opal, in my opinion has one of the BEST colors for women of color period! There hasn't been once that I've used the stick foundation and it didn't match. Love it, but unfortunately, I did not fall in love these, even though I so wanted to. Color was once again, on point, love the packaging/bottle with pump, but I didn't like how sheer the foundation goes on, but it does say that it's lightweight. So it stays true to that, but if it's oil free, I would like it to completely go matte. If it would have went matte, then I wouldn't mind building to the desired coverage. I swatched it along side Revlon colorstay matte foundation and it never dried. I was so sad to take it back since it didn't function as I would have preferred, but I believe this foundation would be perfect for someone who likes that sheer coverage.
