Hello Beauties!

You guys know I absolutely love lipsticks and glosses. This is why the Lip Stick Files were born. Today I'd love to discuss these beautifully packaged Iconic Baked Sculpting Lipsticks by Laura Geller.

Since I've mentioned the packaging, lets begin there. I don't know what it is about black lipstick casing but it drive me insane in a good way. Its classic and chic...you know something I'm not ashamed to pull out of my purse. Unlike other lipsticks with unicorns and glitter casing. While I love loud packaging that stands out, sometimes it can be seen as little adolescent and obnoxious. Moving on...

The casing has a matte black finish and is smooth to touch like suede. They also have a bit of weight to them which I absolutely LOVE. They feel so expensive!!!! I know I'm talking the packaging up but you have to find yourself an Ulta and go rub on these babies. Yes, I'm and telling you to go touch and hold this lipstick. Its amazing. Another feature that I am absolutely obsessing over isn't something you will notice right off the bat. Before I go into it, examine the photo below:

Do you see what I see? Let me direct your attention to the white rings wedged inside of the casing around the lipstick top and base. Those my friends are magnets. What's the big deal you say? I'm sure its contributing to the weight/luxury feeling of the lipstick and its also solving an important issue (well one that's important to me). With the magnetic closer, the lipstick securely snaps shut. You will no longer have to worry about lipstick top popping off inside of your purse and ruining every single thing in your bag, including he bag itself. Has this ever happened to anyone other than me? You reach inside your purse for your cellphone only to find it covered in lipstick? I need ALL lipsticks to add magnet closers. I can't express how happy this feature made me. These are the things that set brands apart. My husband hasn't seen me gasp over a product like this in a while. Mind you...I hadn't even swatched them yet. I had that crazy twitch in my eye. Love, love, love the packaging! (LOL)

Speaking of swatches...

(I could NOT get the lighting the same in every photo. So my skin is like 12 shades, however I chose photos that represented each lipstick perfectly. So, my skin color is all over the place, but the lipstick colors are spot on. LOL)

As you can see the colors are gorgeous! The only one I was kinda disappointed with was Broadway Plum. It appeared to be much darker in the tube to me (view pic at the top. Its the last lipstick in the photo), however it's still pretty. They apply very smooth and have a creamy texture. As you can see they have a bit of a glossy finish, but I love that they aren't slippery. Its like a lipstick and a gloss combined. With these you won't have to worry about find a gloss to go over it as it gives off the perfect amount of shine.

One more thing I absolutely love is the curve of the lipstick. Its not the standard cut of most lipsticks. It actually curves with and hugs your lips for a mistake free application. I love how pointy the top is for precision and how curved the bottom is to hug, sculpt and coat every inch of my big ole' lips.

At the end I usually pick my favorites, however I truly love how all of them look, except broadway plum. I'm sure I'll get over the color, I was just hoping for something a bit darker.

You can find these lippies at Ulta, Nordstrom, Macy's, or  here. They retail for $21.

Tell me what your favorite shade is?

Until next time,
<3 Bee
