H E Y  B E A U T I E S!

Today we going to talk about YSL's New Touché Eclat Neutralizers. More than half of the questions I receive are about highlighting and color correcting, so I hope to shed some light on some of the issues you've been having.

Have you ever noticed that when you try to conceal your dark circles, that a shadow is left behind. How does your dark circles, turn into what appears to be a black eye? Applying concealer before color correcting is usually the cause. Or maybe you are using the wrong shade to correct all together.

Here's what you need to know without going into the complexity of the color wheel:

Green neutralizes redness.  (ex. Pimples, Zits, Sunburn, Rosacea, etc.)
Use YSL Touché Eclat Neutralizer - Vert Green

If you wake up in the morning and find a new friend (blemish) on your nose, forehead or chin place a green corrector like YSL's Neutralizer in Vert Green over it minimize redness. Doing this first will prep the area for concealer/foundation and make that blemish almost undetectable! Without the shadow of its presence reminding you that its still there. You can forget about it until its time to wash your makeup off.

Of course follow up with your skin care routine.

Orange neutralizes blue/darkness. (ex. Dark circles, darkness around upper lip, corner of the eyes)  Use YSL Touché Eclat Neutralizer - Apricot Bisque

With dark circles it it very important neutralize the area before highlighting. This is why many of you who email me still see darkness peeping through your concealer. You MUST color correct first, unless the product that you're using is so thick that it won't matter. However to be safe, just do it anyway. This neutralizer is ideal for women of color of medium to dark skin tones.

Purple neutralizes yellow. (yellow)
Use YSL Touché Eclat Neutralizer - Violet

If your skin town is on the pale side with yellow undertones, this neutralizer is for you. Use to conceal yellow spots and add a nice natural glow to your face. I'd also suggest a Smashbox Photo Finish Color Correcting Concealer in Balance for a nice nice overall finish.

My final thoughts on the product:

YSL's packaging always wins with me, however I'm unsure about this one. Yes it looks great, however I think I got a bad one. No matter how many times I pump it at the bottom out, only a tiny bit of product comes out. I tried for about 5 minutes to pump product out and got out less than a dime size amount. So, mine is definitely clogged or something. Definitely something to be aware of when purchasing. I wasn't able to get out enough to place over the sides of my nose which is usually red, so I can't really comment on the consistency. Which I'm pretty sad about, because I've loved everything I've received from YSL so far.

I will say that I love the pointed applicator. This gives you more control over how much product used covering the area. Over all, you're using less product. So if you have the tiniest pimple, one quick dab with this applicator will do the trick.

If you plan on purchasing this product, use the guide above to determine what shade works best for you and your skin condition. Then come back and let me know how it worked for you. Mine is definitely defective. :(  Enjoy these few images I was able to take.

I love YSL's packaging!

Love the shape of the applicator.

This was ALL I was able to squeeze out after 5 minutes of pumping! :(

What are some of your favorite color correcting products?

Purchase YSL's Touché Eclat Neutralizer at your local Sephora. They retail for $38.

Until next time,
